The purpose of this list is to exchange information of interest to persons involved in HIV client services and HIV law and public policy advocacy. The list subscribers generate the content of this list by posting inquiries, case summaries and analysis, comments, announcements, or other items of professional interest to the other list subscribers. HIV-LAW is NOT a newsletter from an HIV legal service organization. It is NOT intended for the direct provision of legal advice or services to clients. This is a closed list. All subscribers must be approved by the maintainers, and only subscribers to the list can post messages to it. Accordingly, if you join this list, you will NOT receive questions on legal issues or requests for services from members of the general public. You may subscribe to either of two lists: HIV-Law or HIV-Law-Digest. The digest (collection) of the day's messages will go out at midnight. To subscribe to the list, send a message to HIV-Law-Approval@Web-Depot.COM. Your message should explain who you are, the nature of the legal or advocacy services you provide, your location, and whether you prefer the digest version of the list. After your subscription request is approved, you will receive a confirmation message. The confirmation message will explain, among other things, how to unsubscribe to the list, should you wish to do so in the future. Both organizations and individuals may subscribe. Organizational subscribers, however, should identify a contact person. To unsubscribe from the list, send a message to "lists@Web-Depot.COM". The text of the message should be one line containing the words: "unsubscribe HIV-Law". To unsubscribe from the digest, the text of the message should be one line containing the words: "unsubscribe HIV-Law-Digest". To send mail to folks on the list, just send mail to HIV-Law@Web-Depot.COM. If you want to post anonymously, you can send mail to Anonymous-HIV-Law@Web-Depot.COM. For a list of commands that you can send to this list server, send a message to lists@Web-Depot.COM. The text of the message should be: help. NOTES: 1) This is a private list. No one can use the "who" command to see who is on the list. While this offers some privacy to members of the list, remember that not much is truly private on the internet. Please help us to maintain an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust. 2) This is an unmoderated list. No one edits or approves the messages before they go out to the list. 3) If you subscribe to the list and mail sent to you bounces back to the list server, your subscription to the list may be removed. If you think you have been removed from the list, just re-subscribe after clearing up the problem. Don't worry about being subscribed more than once, the software should prevent this. 4) Please do not archive the messages or network them to other groups -- even if you have the best intentions in mind. We wish to retain administrative control over the list. Anonymous postings will only be accepted through the facility mentioned above. Individuals who meet the guidelines and want to subscribe are welcome to do so. Organizations are encouraged to encourage their members to join, or to form their own lists. Please do not subscribe as an organization. --------------------------------------------------------------------- List Contacts: David W.
