GLBMATH is a general discussion list designed to facilitate online discussion
among g/l/b/t mathematicians and others interested in math.

The idea behind the mailing list is to create a space for queer mathematicians 
to talk about the profession and network in a non-competitive manner.

It was felt that with the upcoming social event at the Joint AMS-MAA Meetings
in San Francisco now was a propitious time to form a mailing list to increase
the visibility and profile of mathematicians who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or
transgendered. Hopefully GLBMATH an be used to get the word out that not all
mathematicians are _heterosexual_! [It should be noted that heterosexuals are
also invited to participate on the GLBMATH mailing list]

To join the GLBMATH mailing list send a message to MAJORDOMO@abacus.oxy.edu
with a one line message:

	subscribe glbmath 

To leave the list, send the one line message to MAJORDOMO@abacus.oxy.edu:

	unsubscribe glbmath
