GayMormons is an email group for people with varying degrees of involvement in the gay community and/or the Mormon church who may feel isolated or just want to enlarge their circle of friends. It's purpose is to serve as a safe space for discussing issues and concerns that many sexual minorities (gay/lesbians) share in connection with Mormon culture. This group also welcomes friends, and relatives of "GayMormons". GayMormons was started the Summer of 1994 by a small group of friends. Once it was made public on the internet, this email group grow quickly. Today there are more than 60 members. The list generates about 3 or 4 messages a day. Everyone is free to share whatever they feel without limits. All that is asked is that everyone own their own opinions and respect each other. If you would like to join, send a message to Nephi at nephi@netcom.com asking to be added. Once you have been added you will be sent a short welcome message and told how to send mail to the group.
