For the curious,

There were several changes to the QRD this last month which will reduce 
the reliability of statistics this month.  Most significantly, the qrd 
directory was folded into QRD, changing the path names of almost every 
file.  Also, a 500M drive was added to vector.intercon.com, which allowed 
us to uncompress all QRD files, also changing many file names.

At 2:15 a.m. this morning, there were 2906 files in the QRD at a total of
25.7M.  During the month of September there were a total of 21,061
accesses to the QRD: 9488 via FTP and 11,573 via gopher.  September 27 
saw the most number of FTP hits (2848), and September 8 saw the median 
(186); the mean was 316.
