Please forward to people who might be interested. ************************************************* JOB ANNOUNCEMENT LYRIC is a non-profit youth community center that provides educational, recreational and peer leadership development activities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. TITLE: Art and Media Program Coordinator (0.75 - 1.0 F.T.E.) General Statement of Tasks: Develop, coordinate and implement media and art programming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth 23 and younger in Northern California. Responsibilities: * Coordinate, develop art programs for LGBTQ youth including, but not limited to, visual arts, video, photography, writing and drama. * Coordinate weekly art drop-in for youth 23 and under. * Develop outreach plan for LGBTQ youth to promote program. * Supervise assistant and interns as needed. * Work closely with San Francisco Recreation and Park staff and other collaborating agencies. * Create comprehensive tools to evaluate all aspects of program, include individual tracking. * Maintain accurate statistics for monthly, quarterly and annual reports; Maintain monthly and annual program budget. * Report to Program Director on a weekly basis through scheduled supervision meetings; Attend agency staff meetings; perform agency tasks as requested Required Skills: * Background in art education a plus * Experience with and commitment to working in a multicultural environment, as well as an understanding and commitment to peer-based programming. * Able to establish good communication with young people, familiar with contemporary youth culture and knowledge of youth issues, particularly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. * Able to work independently in a hectic environment. Organized and ability to multi-task. * Youth recreational programming experience desirable. * Fluency in Spanish a plus. Salary: The annual salary for this position is based on a 1.0 FTE of 28,000-29,500 and pro-rated benefits. Position starts approximately around March 22, 2000.
