Now, to the dismay of the religious right, gay students are using the same law to secure a place for their own clubs. The number of gay and lesbian clubs meeting on high school grounds has grown dramatically, from fewer than 100 to more than 600 in just two years, according to the New York-based Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.
