With the 20th century drawing to a close, it is time for us to ponder the momentum of our movement: Where are we going? Where have we been? Who will lead the way? What can we learn from the activists who got it all started? As legislation to include lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in non- discrimination statutes and protect us against hate crimes is finally beginning to surface in a significant way, now more than ever we need to organize. We believe that we have put together the best conference ever. Our keynote speakers include Candace Gingrich of the Human Rights Campaign and Kevin Jennings of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Teacher Education Network (GLSEN). We have workshops on student organizing, the Equality Begins at Home Campaign, how to rise to the top of corporate America as an out LGBT individual, LGBT people in education, how to form and run a pro-active group, the history of LGBT people, and a People of Color Summit Meeting. We are looking forward to seeing you in April! We have enclosed all registration materials and return envelopes. Please call Tommy or David at (518) 442-5640 with any questions. Best wishes, Tommy Sciacca LGBI Director =========================================================== For your information: 1999 Eastern United States LGBT Conference!
