CA: Youth lobby day update ================================================================== POST TRIBUNE, November 23, 1997 TEACHER, POSTER KEEP HIGH-PROFILE POSITION By Carole Carlson, Staff Writer [Deleted article. filemanager@qrd.org] ================================================================== From: "Whitman, Lucia" Subject: AIDS Action kicks off the e-March December 1 Date: Tue, 25 Nov 1997 16:31:40 -0500 My name is Lucia Whitman and I am writing to you from AIDS Action to tell you about the e-March, the first electronic march on Washington. We are very excited about this project. The success of this march will be judged by the number of e-Marchers so help us get the word OUT. Everyone, participate in the e-March at www.aidsaction.org and let Washington know that America cares about AIDS. Tell your friends to "march.". We really need your help. Thank you for all your help. If you have any questions about the march or if you would like more information, please call me at (202) 986-1300 x3020 or email me at lwhitman@aidsaction.org. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Lucia Whitman General Information about the e-March: The Until It's Over e-March will take place at the AIDS Action's site on the World Wide Web at www.aidsaction.org and will last a full year ending on December 1, World AIDS Day 1998. Once connected to the site, Web users will be presented with a Virtual Mall, essentially a cartoonist's depiction of the Washington Mall. In addition to a digital marcher counter, the Virtual Mall will aslo have an e-sign link (allowing e-marchers to send e-mail to government leaders), information and merchandise booths, as well as a speaker's podium where e-marchers can read speeches from governement officials, community leaders and other concerned individuals. The message of the e-March is only that AIDS is not over and that, until it is, America cares about bringing an end to the epidemic. With traditional media fueling misperception of an end to AIDS, the Until It's Over e-March will send a message to our national leaders that it's not over, ensuring AIDS as an isuue in the next century, rather than a relic of this one ================================================================== From: SARATOGANY@aol.com Date: Wed, 26 Nov 1997 09:53:59 -0500 (EST) Subject: SEXUAL ORIENTATION: SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND POLICY Message from: the Coalition for Safer Schools of NYS, PO Box 2345, Malta, NY 12020 Email: saratogany@aol.com (John Myers) ====================================================================== Most complete professional website on these issues I have found to date. ======================================================================= SEXUAL ORIENTATION: SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND POLICY http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/index.html Sexual Orientation: Science, Education, and P...
