Box 1092 Webster, N.Y. 14580 (716)787-1437 PARADOX BIOGRAPHY PARADOX is a duo of lesbian women who are in love with each other and in love with life! As professionals with Masters degrees in education and C.A.S. degrees in educational administration, Roz Pullara and Barb Adams combine their zest and commitment to teaching with their gifts of song writing, arranging and performing to present workshops and concerts that inspire and inform as well as excite. As women who have lived the heterosexual life and who have children of their own, PARADOX is able to reach out to both the gay and lesbians in the audience as well as to the straight members. They have a unique way of making everyone feel comfortable and at ease through their identification with "both worlds," since they felt compelled to "play it straight" most of their lives. Freedom Song is a sunshine-filled message of peace and of a life, at last, realized. The love between Roz and Barb is obvious both off stage and on. They have recently celebrated 13 years since "their hearts came together." The song, My Most Precious Gift, is a loving message of the mature and lasting love that they feel for each other. Roz and Barb are developing their blended family with each of them being the mother of two young-adult children. The two women would be the first ones to say, however, that they still feel love for their former husbands. Each has a unique and special relationship with the man that she was married to for over 20 years. The original families, with the children and all four adults, have shared holidays together for what Barb and Roz call a unique Norman Rockwell picture! What is more than obvious is the love that Roz and Barb have for their children. They, like other mothers, are concerned about their children's well being, safety, happiness and success. They share the tenderness of their love for their children in special songs which they have written and arranged for them. Little One, I Saw Heaven, Will You, My Son? and Becky's Song are special tributes to the children that remain at the center of their lives. Since individuals are more likely to listen to a point of view that is presented in a non-threatening, humorous and entertaining manner, PARADOX'S musical approach is just the creative style that helps to bridge the gap of misunderstanding about gays and lesbians. PARADOX'S Housewife Lesbos, Dear Madame Therapist and Red Hot Mama leave the audiences in stitches with their lyrics, while Lesbo Mambo , with its sensual Latin rhythm illustrates the romantic, moving love that lesbians may feel for each other. PARADOX has a serious message which they want to share in their performances as well. They know how suffocating life in the closet can be and they feel that society in general needs to realize how much gays and lesbians contribute to their communities in various capacities from professional to service jobs; from volunteers to CEO's; from military personnel to religious leaders. Roz and Barb share this message in their song entitled, We're All Around You. PARADOX is happy to make themselves available for interviews and photographs. Please contact them at their address or phone number. =================================================================== Jean Richter -- richter@eecs.berkeley.edu The P.E.R.S.O.N.
