Begun in 1994, GLSTN is the only national organization of gay and straight teachers and concerned community members working together to end homophobia in K-12 schools. The office/operations manager will be the organization's 5th full-time staff member. The conference is for youth, planned by youth and will be showcase programs and caucuses on how to reach out in our communities, become youth advocates and network with existing resources. The conference expects around 500 participants from the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as other parts of California and the the entire nation. The conference will be held on July 12-13 at Everett Middle School. Addmission is free for all participants. The conference committee will also take submissions for programs dealing with lgbtq youth issues on any number of topics.
