Such teaching is incomplete, misleading, and therefore ahistorical, and you can use the below document to argue for inclusion of mention of nazi treatment of gays and lesbians in your state's teaching on that era, genocide, human rights, etc.] Date: Fri, 7 Jun 1996 14:00:27 -0700 (PDT) From: "Stephen C. Klein" To: gayjews@israel.nysernet.org Subject: Holocaust Museum publications As one of the LiBEARians on this list, I came across a series of publications of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum which explore some of the many groups of victims of the Holocaust. Of particular interest is the 20 page pamphlet "Homosexuals: Victims of the Nazi Era" (Supt. of Documents number Y 3.H 74:2 H 75) which includes many photographs and special sections on topics such as Paragraph 175 (the section in the German criminal code which made illegal a broad range of behavior between men), Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld (the founder, in 1919 of the Institute for Sexual Science), a bibliography, and references to exhibits and records at the Holocaust Memorial Museum. [...] You can read this pamphlet in many public and academic libraries which serve as Depository Libraries for federal documents. If your library does not have them, you can request that they borrow them for you from a nearby Depository Library. ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- Date: Wed, 5 Jun 1996 16:37:17 -0700 To: jessea@uclink4.berkeley.edu From: NGLTF@aol.com Subject: NGLTF Youth Institute Dates It was pointed out to me that the electronic application that I sent did not have the dates of the Institute anywhere on it. Every now and then it becomes clear that I'm not the computer maven that I pretend to be. The Institute takes place Saturday, July 27-Friday, August 2. I apologize for any inconvenience.
