Submitted on: May 26, 1993 City of Atlanta - Two pieces of legislation pertaining to Domestic Partnership have been introduced to the Atlanta City Council by Councilmember Mary Davis: one to cover City Employees and one to cover residents of the City of Atlanta who may or may not be city employees. Fulton County - The Board of Commissioners will consider a Domestic Partnership Ordinance introduced by Chairman Michael Lomax. This ordinance applies to residents and/or employees of Fulton County. It is anticipated that these ordinances will be considered in *early* June by both governments so CALLS ARE NEEDED immediately. This Week. For residents of these jurisdictions, the effect would be that partnerships could be registered which has been useful in the probate of wills. Additionally, DPs would be granted the same visitation rights in public hospitals and jails. For employees, DPs would be granted the same status of spouses and entitled to the same benefits (family leave, insurance, pension benefits, etc.). PLEASE CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fulton Co.
