The Los Angeles Times reported in the Friday, May 21 1993 edition thtat Harvard University said it will extend health insurancee coverage to the partners and children of its homosexual faculty and staff membvers. A faculty-staff scommittee endorsed the move earlier this week. The coverage for "same sex" domestic partenerships equivalent to marriage may be available as early as the next bnefit enrollment period in November. Toqualify , couples must register in Cambridge or anouther city that recognizes same-sex marriages. This is great news for those of use us who are at schollls or institutions that are trying to do the same. Maybe those of us at Caltech can use this as leverage, since Harvard is more attractive now with these kinds of benefits. Caltech might be more competitive if they did the same.
