IBM announced to all its employees at noon Thursday, September 19, that it is
instituting domestic partner benefits througout the corporation.

This is the result of much hard work on the part of IMB's Gay and Lesbian
employee group, of which PFLAG's own Ed McCanless is a leader.  There is
concern that the corporation will be flooded with letters of outrage, and
PFLAG members have been asked specifically to help by writing letters
congratulating the company for this action.
