See MMWR 1995;44:603 06. 4 Thirty-three adults/adolescents and 2 children developed AIDS after receiving blood screened negative for HIV antibody. Ten additional adults developed AIDS after receiving tissue, organs, or artificial insemination from HIV-infected donors. Three of the 10 received tissue, organs, or artificial insemination from a donor who was negative for HIV antibody at the time of donation. See N Engl J Med 1992;326:726-32. 5 See Table 16 and Figure 7 for a discussion of the "other" exposure category. "Other" also includes 29 persons who acquired HIV infection perinatally but were diagnosed with AIDS after age 13. These 29 persons are tabulated under the adult/adolescent, not pediatric, exposure category.
