 AB   Aztec, a new AZT-based AIDS drug manufactured by Vertex Laboratories
      Inc., will enter a Phase II double-blind randomized study with AZT at
      several sites across the country.  Aztec is unique in that it
      requires a twice-daily dose of a controlled-release formulation that
      has proven to be more tolerable and have fewer side effects than the
      immediate-release formulation that is currently available.
