the following information on gay and aids charities is excerpted from
california attorney general dan lungren's public inquiry unit.  for a copy of
the full report please write to: attorney general's public inquiry unit, p.o.
box 944255, sacramento, ca 94244-2550.  what i've listed below are all of the
findings in the survey on our charities.  keep in mind that even if the
percentage of funds returned to a specific charity is high, say above 60
percent, there still is the large question of what happens to that money once
it makes it to a charity.  zip codes are not given by me because they weren't
in the a.g.'s report.  the report is only for charitable events held in 1996,
and was issued in early january 1998.  also, many of the group's mentioned
here have their i.r.s. 990's posted at the www.accountabilityproject.com
