Washington--the federal government is opening a toll-free telephone number Monday to provide treatment information by phone or computer to people with the virus. The service is schedualed to begin 10:00 am Dallas time. Hours are 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and the number is 1-800-HIV-0440. The service will be in Spanish and in English with access available to the deaf. All calls will be confidential. The data base can be accessed free by computer. Users can call 1-800-272-4787 for directions on how to acess the system with their computer.
