DR. ROGERS M. SMITH JOINS AND JUSTICE FOR ALL ADVISORY BOARD

WASHINGTON, DC -- And Justice for All (AJA) is proud to announce today that Dr. Rogers Smith joined the Advisory Board of And Justice for All.

AJA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving equality for bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgendered (b/g/l/t) people by mobilizing heterosexual allies in the fight for social justice. Smith joins Dr. Mel White and Advisory Board co-chairs Rev. Meg Riley and Don Davis in a standard one-year term in which he will counsel the AJA on major policy decisions.

A professor of Political Science at Yale University and author of "Liberalism and the American Constitution" and "Civic Ideals: Conflicting Conceptions of Citizenship in American Law," Smith brings an extensive knowledge of American politics and liberal thought to the organization.

"We're very pleased to have Dr. Smith join our Advisory Board," said Executive Director Jonathan Zucker. "A constitutional scholar of his stature can add a great deal to our important goals of educating and mobilizing heterosexuals in the struggle for bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgendered civil rights."

Smith is the author of over 30 essays on political science, and was awarded a Rockefeller Foundation Humanities Fellowship and the Yale College Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Prize. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of Polity and Studies in American Political Development.

"If Pat Buchanan is right that we're in a war for the soul of this nation, I'm proud to be on the side of AJA. It stands for what's best in American values--respect for persons and fair opportunities for all, instead of prejudice, discrimination, and hate."

Dr. Smith received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University and his B.A. from Michigan State University. He resides in New Haven, Connecticut, is married and has three children.

And Justice for All seeks bisexual, gay, lesbian, straight and transgendered activists with experience in coalition building, membership recruitment and fundraising for its advisory board. Interested parties should contact the organization at (202) 298-9362.

And Justice for All is a non-profit corporation organized under section 501(c)(4) of the internal revenue code. Contributions to And Justice for All are not tax deductible and may be used to advocate the election or defeat of candidates for federal office.
